At last, the end of my exams! HOORAY!
Had to cancel my lunch appointment with my ex-colleagues because I hadn't sleep the entire day before and my right eye was prominently red till the extent it was near impossible to stick my lenses on. VAIN but i still wore my specs in the end.
Yesterday was spend rather productively. After a 3 hour nap, brought grams to cut & perm her hair and whilst waiting for 2.5 hours, (gosh, i didn't know it'd take that long!! :() I did all that I could to spend my day productively- pay the bills, transfers, mcflurry-ed, phone chat with my ex-colleague and even had a hair cut! Yknow, I've always been cutting my own hair, but this time round I wanted to ditch my current hairstyle for a V shape, bored of the shapeless straight hair. & guess what..... the lady chopped off 3 inches of my hair despite my instructions to maintain the length for a sharp V and my hair look even thicker now with a blunt V. That's prolly the only reason why I'd always cut my own hair, cause hairdressers would NEVER adhere to simple instructions. Pfft* still have to come home and trim myself. Went to meet gaygay after I send grams home, we were both famished and looking forward to the widely raved Steak Republic!!
Steak Republic has been widely raved about in numerous reviews by newspapers, magazines and food blogs. Initially, I wanted to bring Daddy there cause he enjoys good steak and practically anything with beef, but it's such a pity that he's not a opinion leader to try new food - he ALWAYS think Jack's Place serve the best beef and guess what? We're heading there for our Father's Day lunch this Sunday. (boringgggg)
And so Gaygay & i are the exact opposite of Pap. We would always be on the lookout for new food to try & love exploring new places for good food but... sometimes..s-sometimes we just get really disappointed... Thankfully, the trip made to Steak Republic was so worthwhile and this is one hidden gem of a coffeeshop (yes coffeeshop! I initially thought it'd be at a restaurant too, but stumbled upon a review only to know it's hidden in a coffeeshop) at Waterloo Street that serves really really rearly rearrryyyy good steaks. Oh, and yknow Gaygay's always so good with her direction (or is it just me with an absurdly poor sense of direction? kakaka, Anyway, I really enjoy hanging out with people w a good sense of direction, it makes me feel really secure!) cause each time I found a place to try new food, she'd always be one holding my hand and bringing me to the final destination. hehe, so TAADAAH! Steak Republic's pretty ulu + deep inside, i would die if i were to go there alone, so be smart, don't kaykiang and go there alone (if you're a girl, that is).
From the start of the first dish, we couldn't stop singing its praises!
It was the first time I see Gaygay enjoying and savoring every bit of her food steak, she and I both agreed that this was the BEST mushroom soup we've ever tasted.
Soup was rich (not the jerlak kind) and goodddddddd. Homymy, I'm drooling as I typed this.

Home-made mushroom soupBest best best best bestttttt!

Lady Ribeye Steak w Onion Rings & Egg Salad (choice of 2 side dishes)
Steak was really well done I must say! It was extraordinarily tender, succulent and grilled to perfection. Definitely one of the best we've ever tried & the egg salad was yet another pleasant surprise! I really love how this simple dish can be so flavourful!
Beef burger with Onion Rings (choice of 1 side dish)
I'm a sucker for french fries, and I was a little upset when I got to know that they don't serve fries *sad face w pouty lips* But the onion rings was a trusty good substitute & I was secretly glad that they don't serve fries, heh. It's different from the usual breaded onion rings you get from your typical kopitiam western stores. YUMMIEST ONION RINGS & I think I'd come back for more onion rings & choc cake (even though I don't like choc)!
Throw in some root beer and lava molten choc cake (which I regret that we hadn't order that cause it was another highly raved item on the menu) – they'd make me the happiest lad in the world. What an enjoyable meal after the torturous phase of my life.
If this is your first time hearing about them, you must make a trip there soon. Price was really reasonable & you get impeccable service from them. Meanwhile, I have attached their menu for your perusal & pre-selection of your meals before you head there.

Off to meet Jo now~
