Zhu Hai and Macau Trip

It's pretty nice to have a well-deserving break after all the midnight oils I've burnt for the last few papers in my poly life! Mom, Sis & I are heading to Zhuhai & Macau!!! jeeez, this is just soooo egggziting because it's been awhile.... my last trip was 2 years back to BKK! Sis did a fabulous job in planning our free and easy trip's itinerary, the booking of hotels & air tix, to bringing us around famous places of interest! & i rlly rlly like it when we spend quality time tgt cause its always hard to fix a time to chat/have dinner tgt. :(

On the plane: is it me, or is it normal to feel your heart sinking down each time there's a turbulence experienced? & i feel very tickled too! HAHAHAHA. i think im weird.

Macau International Airport Take a cab once you reach the airport to Gongbei Port.

(thats the only way u can get to Zhu Hai)

The taxis here are equivalent/more expensive than Singapore and in addition, for each luggage you carry with you, they'd charge an additional 50HKD/MOP. (if i remember correctly)

Once you leave the airport to flag for a cab, you'll experience the ultra cold weather. It's my first time experiencing it! okay..... i know you'll say im a noob but heh, im so hehpi!

& It's like having air-con everywhere you go. So remember to bring thick gloves and jackets cause it really helps! Dont be like me, "kay-kiang" bring one thin blazer -.- i was freezing and shivering.

The so -called "HDBs" in Macau! very old & dirty-looking.
guess we've gotta be thankful for our sophisticated-looking HDBs' facades! The only turnoff in this trip'd be the overwhelming queue at the immigration point. This is what you'll see & experience on weekends. So if you hate long queues, opt for a weekday instead! ;) but it doesnt mean once you're done with this queue, you're so done with it. There's another checkpoint after this and the queue's just as bad. You'll even see kiasu people running there!! & We spend about 1 hr at both checkpoints. Besides the queue, the worse thing's they labelled foreigners like us as "ALIENS" Once the 2 immigration points are cleared, we headed to check in at our hotel which's just a good 5 mins walk away. Weather here is 17 degrees. Sis checking in.

This bell boy refused to let go of our luggages despite us spending prolly abt 10 mins to clear some enquiries. So remember to tip them!

Madly in love with our room ! Very welcoming, gorgeous and classy! After checking in, it was already 8+pm! We're famished :( Zhu hai is well-known for their fresh sea food, so Sis asked the hotel if they've got any good recommendations on seafood restaurants and we got directed to Xin Hai Li Restaurant.

One thing good about this restaurant is, they'd rinse the porcelein utensils with hot water infront of you. The freshest prawn i've ever eaten! it's so yummy & succulent ;) Am not exactly a fan of crab. so i only ate a pincer. Not that fantastic though, Singapore has better crabs! The best one's at Joo Chiat! ^^ Yangzhou fried rice- Singapore does it better too!

Bird's nest. All in all, only the prawns are worth your penny, other than that.... it's a big NO to come here :( $88 SGD for this meal.

Bad service, Food's so-so, Expensive and hence, NOT RECOMMENDED. Never waste your calories & money on such restaurants. You'd easily find better seafood places if you've done adequate research. The reason why we didnt try street seafood hawkers's cause my mom's pretty particular about hygiene and she's afraid we might get sick after eating em! But for those who doesnt mind, im sure street hawkers can offer better food than Xin Hai Li.

Limousine! After our meal, it's 9 plus and we've decided to shop at the underground shopping mall for awhile since we'd only have a day to shop tmr and off we head to Macau the day after. And this mall closes at 10.30pm. Before shopping, we returned back to our hotel so i could change to my specs :( why on earth did i have such red eyes in the midst of my holiday!!!! :( [Im sorry if i scared you!] Day 2: pleaded my mom & sis to let me wear my lenses cause it's a HOLIDAY and we're suppose to look good?! but they chided me and asked me to be obedient :( so i wore my specs the whole of today! hoping they'd get well before the trip to Macau cause i rlly wanna take lotsa pretty pictures! ;) We didnt have a good night sleep, maybe it's because of the unfamiliar surroundings, we woke up several times in the middle of the night. We woke up early because today's the last day we'd be in Zhuhai so we need to plan our time well & get the best bargains! Morning Breakfast @ Charming Hotel. Food's so-so. the cocktail hotdogs taste funny. the stew's the best! ^^ My mom's 2nd dish- porridge & duck. ewyuck! i never like ducks. :/ their meat's super tough and yucky :0 After breakfast, it's about 9+am, we thought the malls would have opened already, but they are only opened @ 10.30am! so we stroll around the vicinity of the Hotel and we saw a manicure store. it's just behind Charming hotel, so those of you who're interested, you can head there for your mani/pedi. It's about 8SGD for plain manicure and 10SGD for nail arts.
The best thing's for 8 SGD, they'd help you to remove all the dead skins around your nails!

I seriously would prefer plain nails without the nail art, but the girl psycho-ed me -.-
Before:
After: HAHAHAHAHA My sis's nails looked like brinjals/eggplants right! i like mine better! Shimmery silver ;)
I got so tickled when she scrape my feet. They're all rather professional cept for the fact that... one inexperienced staff made my mom bleed!! because my mom's callous are really thick so the staff actually had to scrape for damn long! Poor mommmyyyy~ After manicure/pedicure, it was 12.30pm! :( we wasted 1 hr+ on our nails. Opportunity cost on the time to shop at the shopping malls :( but, we quickly went to the mall and shop shop shop!

The luggages here are really cheap too! i got my hard case polka dots luggage for SGD$40! ^^ we dumped all our shopping stuffs inside. ;) Then we got hungry, and decide to have lunch @ Ajisen!

I dont usually dine at Ajisen in Singapore because i dont like ramens (my poly gfs love it!) and i think its not worth it to pay $12-$15 for a bowl of ramen.

Over here @ Zhu hai, you pay on average SGD$4-6 for a bowl of ramen! and that's probably why many people, even those that resides in Macau, would come over to Zhu hai for food.

Food here's rlly rlly cheap & good!! Super proud of the fried udon i chose! HEH. yummy! it's such a huge portion that i have to share it with my Sis because her chilli beef ramen sucks! Do order the fried chicken if you happen to be there! It's as good as any KFC!! so yummy & im so in love with the sauce ;( i dont think Sgp has it? Mom's pork rib ramen, it looks sick :Xpan fried gyoza! ubi tempura ;)

the killer- Sis's chilli beef ramen. So spicy that they have a weird taste. yuck! please dont order this when you're there! After that, we carried on shopping again. I had lotsa fun bargaining! though sometimes some stores that sell rlly nice apparels doesnt have such a practice, TRY.TO.BARGAIN. at least 50%! then.... while mommy's hunting for her boots, gaygay & I chanced upon this takopachi store! So cute and striking that we both wanna try it so badly! However, the queue pretty horrendous and the staff there aren't systematic enough to manage the crowd. So only queue if you're patient, lest you screamed at their non-chalent attitudes. we waited for 15-20 mins for 4 balls and a drink -.- im starting to appreciate the service i received in Singapore! BUT IT'S DAMN DELICIOUS AND AWESOME! it beats singapore's Gindaco & takopachi HANDS DOWN! so crispy i feel like opening a franchise in Singapore. HAHAHAHAHA. Then we carried on shopping. I think that's the reason why some time back ago, a HK tourism advertisement feature this as their selling point: 买东西吃东西,买东西吃东西

(go shopping, take breaks for food, on repeat) but heh heh heh we wont grow fat, cause each time after we have calories intake, we shopped like crazy women and burned those calories away. That's prolly why we get hungry easily. HAHAH! Then it was dinner time again! This time Sis wanted to try the KFC here. My mom's pretty disappointed that they do not have any cheese fries here, but they certainly do have these interesting deep fried mini crabs! huh, why crab again? i hate crabs leh! and these KFC crabs stink really badly! only Sis ate it. My mom and me just indulge in our fries + zinger. Their zinger's really dry and eeyuckky. Singapore's ZINGER's still the best! (but i overheard Mom & Sis commented that Johor's zinger's the best!) Time flies and soon~ it's..... DAY 3: woke up at 7am cause we have to reach Macau fast! we skipped the hotel breakfast and intend to have our breakfast @ Macau. am hoping the food there would be better!! I couldnt bear to leave this pretty hotel :( can my future house be like this? ;) look how messy our hotel is! Bye charming holiday hotel :(
you're really charming and you totally mesmerized mehhhhh!

same procedure. 2 checkpoints and take a cab to our Macau hotel.

Hotel Sintra

I dont know where's this place, but its a 15 mins walk away from our hotel.& the weather in Macau's worse than Zhu hai. i rlly regret not bringing thicker jacket

It's the wind that pierces through, man! ;( The temp here's 15 degrees.

I wonder how people can wear only one layer and feel so immune to it.

I wore 3 freaking layers and my hands are still icy cold!!

gaygay's rlly strong, her fingers are not at all icy! cause she've been to colder weathers! 7 degrees.
We wanted to have a good breakfast, but only a few stores are opened for business. So we went to Huang Zhi Ji Restaurant for some good local breakie! This intrigued me! Food elevator! I wish Singapore adopts this! So cool!
Can you believe it, even when im in the restaurant im still shivering -.-

I had to wrap my fingers around the warm cup of Chinese Tea.
They say Macau's well known for Pork Chop Bun! But their pork chop bun doesnt really taste good! & i ordered peanut french toast! I thought they'd look sth like what you'll see in Singapore's Xin Wang Cafe.... those thick squarish french toast! But dang!! :( it came as an ordinary white triangle sandwich -.- Hey!! that's called sandwich not french toast! stop deluding your customers :( The century egg porridge is the only food worth raving about here. Mom say the Hongkong's well-known for their porridge! Sis's ham macaroni. It tasted like crap ! my dumpling braised noodles. It tasted like shit as well. I only took the dumplings cause the noodles taste like my long hair. yuckkkkkkkk! Overall, it's quite bad. Dont bother coming here wasting your calories and $$$. Remember to do adequate research and dont leave your hotel too early in case they dont open early! HAHA. My mom & sis mentioned that yesterday was my day because it's shopping day and they have to tag along with me, which is soooooo not true? they bought a few good buys too!! how can that be My Day instead of OUR day huh? I reckoned they said that just so i'd be obedient to tag along with them when we go casino-scouting the whole of today! Cause i dont gamble and i dont want to waste my money on casinos... i spend the whole of today stoning while sitting beside them in the various Casinos! The Casinos here in Macau are all in cluster, and they are like literally next to each other. I wonder why the government in Macau's promoting gambling because there's a ferry where you get to board all the free shuttle buses that brings you to their destined Casinos. So after our sucky breakfast, we took a bus from our hotel to the ferry! So eggziting because i always see those HK actors/actresses boarding public buses in HK dramas. I finally had a feel how it's like! gahhhh!

We're reached the ferry! Waiting for City of Dreams ' Casino's shuttle bus!

wahhhh, the wind's rlllllly piercing through our bones! :( Its so freezing colddddd. brrrrrr.

i think i'd just die if i go to North Pole/ if i ever get the chance to see snow!

im a weakling :(

Taadahhh! City of Dreams Casino!

Their toilet!

My mom ask why do i always like to take picture in the toilet.

I told her, "because im trained by my poly friends! HAHA"
Im sorry i couldnt take any pictures in Casino because it's forbiddened.

So after Mom & Sis had their fun playing and me staring at the screen getting close to dozing off.
Then we had snacks @ macdonalds.

I think Macs's rlly consistent across the globe cause their packaging and store display is still the same as Singapore! ;) Fries's still the best! ^^

They got TARO PIE!!! yummy :) its nicer than BK's taro pie! just cross a road and you'll see The Venetian Hotel & Casino.

and opposite of Venetian's Hardrock hotel & Casino. We're in the Casino vicinity!
then we spotted a couple taking their bridal shots! Awww, mega sweet!

Ready to catch a glimpse of Macau's famous Venetian?

The ceiling!

& i risk my life to take this picture of their casino.

No doors though. it's just linked to their shopping mall.

the ceiling's just mad love!! it's handpainted! ^^

Behind me's the gondola ride!

i think MBS follow their concept!

Venetian is mega huge that we spend 10-15 mins locating a particular shop. Gaygay says their portugese egg tarts are the best! Remember to pop by Lord Stow's Bakery & Cafe

their egg tarts are damnnnn crispy and nice. 2's just nice. dont be greedy cause more than 2'd make you sick! hahah!

This is the 1st gondola ride guy that sang "Ni wen wo ai ni you duo sheng song...." Damn nice, but i couldn't video it in time! :( But i got another video of a guy singing to me and blowing flying kisses! Pretty disgusted by his flirty behaviour but oh well.... it's an experience ;)
I seriously think i've got a fettish to snap toilets.

This's how Venetian's toilet looks like!
So grand!

After lunch, gaygay and my mom went to gamble at the casino while i continue stoning beside them. 30 mins passed, and gaygay agreed to bring me around Venetian while my mom continue to play her jackpot.

Gaygay had beef glass noodles which's not rlly fantastic and i had Bo luo Bun! ^^

i think gaygay & i look damn alike in this pic! ^^ heh heh!
Then after walking around, its time to head back to "redeem" our mom! hahaha, gaygay was so sweet t buy her bird's nest again! but my mom say it's too sweeeeeet~ so again, they played for awhile before we decided to have dinner at a restaurant in MGM Hotel and Casino.

THEIR FOOD'S DAMN SHIOK!

This restaurant offers the best food out of all the food throughout our trip! & we'll never forget the yummy food here! ^^ it costs us about $70+ SGD?

The honey lemon is love!

Char siew bun which i dont eat :)

Spring rolls, rlly yummy!!

i like the fruits salad! its sooooo refreshing ;) the chix's quite common though.

fried rice that's anytime better than the 1st restaurant we ate (Xin Hai Li)

Roasted Suckling Pig which i dont eat too! haha!

French Toast! they have the cutest rendition of it & it's not too bad ;) Beef porridge! yums! :) Then we went to another casinos which i cant remember!

it was only 8+pm that we checked into our 2nd hotel.

Hotel Sintra has got superb service offerings, they prepared 3 beds for us instead of 2!

They made us feeeeel rlly good & be sure t patronise their hotel! ^^

Good stuff's meant to be shared.

we're directly opposite another hotel! & that's their advertising big screen!

DAY 4:

Last day of our leisure trip! :( back to reality tomorrow!!!

we woke up at 8am! gosh, damn early right.... cause we need t get souvenirs & if there's enough time, gaygay & Mom still wants t go t our hotel's casino (Mocha) :0

Ohya! they left me alone in the hotel room last night and happily went Mocha to gamble while i dozed off in the room. when gaygay came up 30 mins later... knocked on the door for 10 mins before i woke up t open the door for her! hahaha, she's sucha cutiepie ;) cause she's worried about my safety so she came up to accompany me. Now you know why the person i love most in this universe's none other than my sis although she mades me angry 1/2 of the time and irritate me, rahhhh! but she's still niceeeee :>

potato and onion meat patty 3 kinds of egg!

the all time favourite honeystars and cococrunch!!!
feels so goooood to have these familiar cereals!

Remember to bring masks if you're a non-smoker and if you'll be patronising several casinos.

Those gamblers are chauvinist pigs because they smoke in air-conditioned places. And my mom & sis are sick from inhaling all the 2nd hand smoke ;( it's rlly very very very bad. So bad that even this mask doesnt help. i gotta stuff tissues inside my mask!

Off we go for street snacks & souvenir hunting!

Tea Plus! We bought what they've recommended.

2 Pork Chop Buns and their pearl milk tea.

Pork Chop bun is sucky.... so dont bother to try, but their pearl milk tea's awesome! You should totally try it! ^^

BFF's competitor- Ireland's potato! Yums, the cheesy one's good!!

The famous St Paul's Ruin

This is the famous souvenir store that specialises in Peanut Candy! ^^

and i see almost everyone in the airport carrying a bag of this.

So do head over to this store to get your souvenirs ;)

We're leaving, byebye Hotel Sintra! Our last meal in Macau!

Good bye Macau! ^^ pretty night scene! i didnt know Singapore's so nice when have bird's eye view from beneath the plane! ;)
Home sweet home!

Although Singapore's Hot weather is the first time that greeted us, it's still nice to look forward to returning home to see our loved ones, Ng and my fluffy bed!! ^^
