Unethical Merchants/Deal Websites
Jie & I nearly died after trying the ice-cream buffet yesterday. I seriously think deal websites this days (Groupon, Bigdeal.sg etc) are providing crappier service/product offerings. Savings saved shouldn't be at the expense of service or product quality. Merchants should so get this drilled in their heads. Just months ago, my ex-colleagues bought the rebonding package and their hair were severely damaged, yknow rebonding takes about 2-3 hours one right? Theirs were like only an hour long? *Astonished* Then, on a separate occasion, just last week, my girlfriends went to purchase their hair perming package and likewise, their hair were severely damaged!! This is just few of the many examples, I've countless of bad experiences with these deal websites. I pretty much reckoned that I would just have to be pretty selective or careful in future with regards to the deals I purchased. Hair treatments or packages are an extreme no-no, food wise, just do your necessary research (reviews & all) before proceeding to purchase X deal, kay. #Justmytwocentsworth | what you see is not what you would get. PERIOD.

YES, i do admit that these deal websites can very well serve as a brilliant marketing platform to reach out to massive audiences but merchants SHOULD BE ethical. By being ethical, I mean that by stating we've saved X amount of dollars by purchasing the deal, your product and/or service offerings should be in line with standards that reflects the usual price stated in the deal package. So to say, if one purchases this:

$68 for hair rebonding package (You save X%, U.P: $400++) then customers have every right to assume that the package would have standards/quality equivalent to $400+ or simply those received at prestigious salons. $400+ leh, uncle not $40+ leh? Alas, my ex-colleagues were enticed by this stunning marketing gimmick, and bought the above-mentioned package. Much to their dismay, the service personnel were hard-selling and advising them to add another $120 for a better rebonding session. When they refused, they've got their lessons learnt. $400 worth of package deal.... more like $40 worth.

#OKAYCAN, my
1st question: why in the first place would you want to state that your rebonding package's worth $400+?! (deceitful)
2nd question: if they've got to top up another 120$, then why would they even have to purchase your service package when they could have easily gotten the ones like Salon Vim, Monsoon, Jean Yip etc for equivalent hair treatment? Gibberish.

k, back track, this is our Icecream Skool review:
I was searching for reviews of the Icecream Skool, and was quite surprised to have come across only a review. Okay lah, I understand they might be new, hence, the limited review on their offerings. Somemore this review was a positive one saying that the belgium waffles are yummy! Being waffle lovers, I told Jie about it, we were REALLY estatic & looking forward to the treat! Apparently, ICS even offers our favourite flavour: Macadamia Nut!!! So I went ahead to purchase the deal thinking that nothing could ever go too wrong with Ice-creams.

Especially so when ice-cream players like Udders, Salted Caramel, The Ice Cream Man etc. are emerging to provide yummy ice cream for us all, Ice cream skool should have standards somewhat near to these players should they want to vie for some of the icekalim market share, yes?

Situated at the heartland of Tampines, Ice Cream Skool is a tiny store tucked in the sleepy estate. I must say they have got really polite + awesome staff along with decent furnitures and wall decos to suit with their theme, which I thought was pretty nostalgic cause there's like this huge blackboard like the one you see beneath. BUT the best thing is not the black board yknow? It's more of the 3 canes beside the edge of this blackboard. Hehe, kinda remind me of the days Jie used to put a cane beside me when she was tutoring me.

and of course pictures of their past clienteles, which again, I thought was pretty thoughtful.
Yep, that's like where their service counter + kitchen + ice creams are.
That's Jie looking exceptionally pretty yesterday :D
To be honest, the Belgium waffles were a major disappointment.
Don't expect to get the whole waffle, but 1/4 of it. Yes 1/4 at a time so you won't feel "jerlak" and I'm so thankful for the small portions cause I nearly died eating them.
Very eggy and floury. Okay I know that is not the best description, but I think the bakery at my neighbourhood that serves the typical green waffles taste so much better! If i'd have to grade their waffles it'd be a 1/5. As much as the owners were really nice and sincere, I am sorry.

Cookies & Cream: Something is missing, (tastes weird.. why would this be their best seller?)
Blue Icecream: Average
Lime: Too sour
Hazelnut choc: Average
Strawberry shortcake: :0 weird
Tiramisu: weird
Mango sorbet: BEST of the whole lot!
even their mint tastes damn weird. unfortunately, even King's ice cream does better than them.

We were horrified. Eating icecream was such a chore.
We were literally struggling to swallow them, but we left right after a few spoonful, lol.
We concluded that our money could be better spent on a tub of Haagen Daz Macdamia Nut Ice Cream ($14++)! Still got left over change to buy British Chippy lor.
THAT IS LIKE THE BOMBZ OKAY. Those who haven't tried them, go try! Best ice cream on earth #heavenly

So...... we left and went to the food galore @ Tampines basement to get some British Chippy & 51 beancurd! We sure learnt how to treasure our food even more after the horrendous ice cream experience.

Went shopping and bought my OPI nail polish, remover and a vintage basket to store all my undies, kakaka.
Loving how organized my shelve looks now!
